The optical departments at Florida Eye Health are supporting Breast Cancer Awareness through the sale of the new BCBG “Believe” sunglasses. For every pair sold, ClearVision Optical, the sunglass distributor, will donate 25 percent of the proceeds to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Using the slogan “Believe in the cause – believe in a cure,” the sunglasses have the trademark pink ribbon design in the lining on the inside of the temples and beautiful scroll details on the outside utilizing the ribbon design.
“We’re delighted to participate in this worthy cause,” said Tracy Seaman, optical manager for Florida Eye Health. “BCBG is a well-known and popular brand of sunglasses and always comes out with very innovative designs that are bold and fashion forward,” she added. For those who might not know, BCBG is French for “Bon Chic, Bon Genre”, which translates to, “Good Style, Good Attitude.”
In addition to the sunglasses, Florida Eye Health is also supporting Breast Cancer Awareness during October with special cookies. “For years, we’ve provided fresh cookies for our patients while they are waiting to be seen by the doctor,” said Florida Eye Health Administrator Tammy Moore. “When we heard about the special promotion that the cookie company Otis Spunkmeyer was offering, we were excited about the opportunity to do what we’ve always done and at the same time help support Breast Cancer Awareness,” said Moore.
Generally patients enjoy chocolate chip and sugar cookies, but for the October promotion, the cookies will be chocolate with pink M & Ms. The cookie company has pledged $75,000 in their nationwide sales to support Breast Cancer Awareness.
